"Free the child's potential, and you will transform him into the world."
~ Maria Montessori
We live in such a fantastic part of the world, so we try to embrace this in our day to day activities.
For example, we have many pets including fish, hermit carbs and birds. Our children learn about responsibility and respect in caring for our animals and also about the life cycle and nature cycle - their food comes from our left overs to promote sustainable practice.
Each room also has a plot in our communal garden to grow various plants and produce over the year. It's a great way for the children to learn about how plants grow and the environment they need.
Our grounds are a place for learning through play. The outdoor play area has some fantastic large trees and in some pockets it even feels like you're in a rain forest. We have natural grass and sand/dirt for the children to play and learn in a natural environment.
